Über dieses Exhibit:
This years spring workshop we dedicated to Sister Corita Kent, who used screenprinting already since 1951 and established it as as a fine art medium.
While teaching at the Art Departement of the Immaculate Heart College for 20 years, she and her colleagues developed a unique and liberal approach towards teaching.
This was influentual on a whole generation of artists and graphic designers.
Her screenprints incorporated the archetypical product of brands of American consumerism and spiritual texts.
Corita's art reflects her spirituality, her commitment to social justice, her hope for peace, and her delight in the world that takes place all around us.
We tried out her methods of combining and juxtapose found quotations, letters and pictures to create screenprints.
The project week took place with the support of Sebastian Wagner at his screenprinting workshop "Serigraphica"
